Inside, the carmaker added a few modifications to match the exterior's new look. The Hyundai badge hid the button for trunk opening. In the back, the taillights were angular, pointing toward the badge with a clear horizontal line for the reversing lights. For the hood, the designers created new lines that suggested power domes. Its reshaped bumper featured taller outer side pods. There were new LED headlights, fog-lights and DRLs. Its front grille changed from the four-slats type to a 3D cascade-type. Apart from the roof, Hyundai changed every other body panel. With so many body panels changed, it was hard to say that it was a facelift and not a new generation. Even though it wasn't an old car by any standards, the 2017 Sonata came with important upgrades over the 2014 model. The Korean carmaker tried to make the Sonata a trustworthy alternative for premium-segment vehicles, and it constantly upgraded the lineup so it could match the offer of its competitors. Hyundai introduced the seventh generation of the Sonata in 2014 and, three years later, it brought a facelift for it and sharpened its image. full description and technical specifications For the transmission, Hyundai offers an 8-speed automatic version for the 1.6-liter. Both of them are four-bangers: one is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated, which offers 191 HP, and the other is a 1.6-liter turbo with 180 HP. Under the hood, though, the engine department didn't play the right note since they are offering only two engine choices. But the redesigned steering wheel looks like it plays a different song than the rest of this Sonata, with a weird-looking 4-spoke design. On the interior, the Sonata has been reworked extensively, adding a touch of luxury and a spice of modernism due to its Bose infotainment system equipped to pair with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The roofline is sloped toward the rear, giving the Sonata a sports-coupe look. Total length has been increased compared to the previous generation by 45 mm (1 in) reaching a total of 4.9 m (192.9 in). Their bet is for the younger drivers and this is why they designed the 2020 Sonata with a sportier look and a lower stance on the road. Hyundai doesn't look too concerned if they will lose some customers aged over 40 or 50 years old. The look, the options and some of its new features are great. It sounds just about right, maybe with a few notes on and off the musical stave. Yet, in the back, adults had some problems with the headroom. At the same time, the seats were available with new upholstery colors. The door panels looked like they sported a slightly altered design. Both displays wore the same 12.5” diagonal size, and the result was spectacular. This idea was already present in other Hyundai models, such as the Elantra of the Ioniq6. Hyundai installed a new combo of an instrument panel and infotainment unit, both being protected by the same glass panel. Inside, the most striking new element was the dashboard. From its profile, the fastback silhouette was just an illusion since the vehicle was a three-box sedan but with a raked forward rear windscreen. On the sides, the LED headlights were above side scoops while the main grille took center stage, adorned with a hexagonal pattern. All the other main components of the front fascia were placed underneath that signature light. Thanks to its continuous light strip across the front fascia, the refreshed eighth generation of the Sonata looked like it was ready for the future. Furthermore, the technological package was also updated, with a new infotainment system and a new dashboard and instrument panel. Even though its styling was not outdated nor dull, the mid-size sedan had already started to show its age. The Korean automaker refreshed the Sonata after four years after the launch of the eighth generation of this model. Hyundai refreshed the eighth generation of the Sonata at the beginning of 2023 for the 2024 model-year, thus improving the car's look both on the inside and the outside. ![]() Vector-based: Looks great at any scale, retina displays, low-dpi display.Colored, sized and positioned entirely with CSS.Served from Google Web Font servers or can be self hosted.900+ icons all from a single, small file.Using the font is not only the most convenient method, but it is efficient and That web developers can easily incorporate these icons with only a few lines of ![]() Takes advantage of the typographic rendering capabilities of modern browsers so We have packaged all the material icons into a single font that The material icon font is the easiest way to incorporate material icons with The material icons are available from the git repository which contains the complete set of icons including all the various formats we Grab the latest stable zip archive (~310MB) of all icons or the bleeding-edge version from master. The eruption stopped on December 13, after 85 days of activity, being the longest historical eruption recorded on the island and the third in the Archipelago, after Timanfaya in Lanzarote and Tagoro in El Hierro. This is the first eruption on the island since that of Teneguía in 1971, mentioned above, and the first in the Canary Islands since the underwater eruption of El Hierro in 2011. It started on September 19 in Cabeza de Vaca, near the town of El Paraíso in the municipality of El Paso. The last volcanic eruption occurred in the Canary Islands was on the island of La Palma in 2021. Thus, with these changes in the terrain, the landscape of La Geria was born. However, the few who remained discovered a miracle for crops: in the areas covered by finer volcanic sand, plants began to grow and the soil became much more fertile. Faced with this devastating situation, most of the island's inhabitants left. Up to eleven villages disappeared under the blanket of volcanic material. This indicates that volcanism is still active in the Archipelago. The most recent eruptions are known as recent or historical volcanism and have affected the islands of Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma and El Hierro. The most outstanding historical eruptions in the Canary Islands The second cycle, also known as the recent series, is currently active in all the islands, with the exception of La Gomera, and has given rise to very varied relief forms. These are formed by piles of basaltic lava flows with intercalations of pyroclastic deposits. ![]() In the first, known as the ancient series, large volcanic edifices emerged. Around 5,000 people were evacuated from their homes this weekend after a volcano erupted on the Spanish island of La Palma, part of the Canary Islands off the northwestern coast of Africa. Subaerial construction began in the last 20 million years, when the Canary Islands emerged from the ocean. ![]() These materials make up what is called the Basal Complex. It's the longest eruption on the island in more. Since erupting on 19 September, the Cumbre Vieja volcano destroyed more than 3,000 properties and hundreds of acres of farmland on the Canary Island. Lava flowing from Spains Canary Islands first volcanic eruption in 50 years has forced the evacuation of 5,500 people and destroyed around 100 houses but the streams were advancing slower than. 19, and has continued to spew lava and ash and cause earthquakes since. On 25th December 2021, after 85 days of intense activity, the authorities declared the official end of the eruption process in the volcano of Cumbre Vieja. So far it has produced 3 brief but spectacular eruptions at the summit crater: the January 5, June 7, and September 11 outbreaks. Stages in the formation First stageĪt first, the oceanic crust was fractured and blocks were erected on which lavas from submarine eruptions were deposited. Volcano Watchers are probably aware that an eruption began on La Palma in the Canary Islands on September 19. The Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Canary Island of La Palma erupted on Sept. ![]() Today it is generally accepted that the Canary Islands began to be built in the middle of the Tertiary Era due to the accumulation of volcanic emissions on the oceanic crust of the Atlantic, although there is no unanimous agreement on their origin. ![]() ![]() Yes, there are some downsides here but accessibility can't be beat.ĭQ III - Switch, Mobile (I like horizontal layout of Switch version better personally) or Super Famicom version with English patch (some translation shenanigans and a few bugs aside I am partial to this one due to enemy animations). Music takes a hit in DS too.ĭQ1-2 : IMO, mobile. ![]() The Job system was changed too, and monster taming was greatly reduced in the DS version to just recruiting some crappy slimes. VI suffers more then IV or V as it was a late-era SFC game and looked beautiful, so the change is pretty stark when you compare them (though when I first played it on the DS, it had been so long since I'd played the SFC version I didn't even realise, I just felt something was "off"), so for VI I play the SFC version with a translation patch. The game is finishable and there is only one piece of storyline dialogue in the game that is not translated, and it is not key text (the rest is NPC).ĭS version of VI loses so much in the port - while it has party chat which the SFC version lacks, DQVI DS has all the character of the originals graphics removed as it uses the DQVII style graphics again (basically Enix made a DQIV remake on the PSX, and to save money they reused their DQVII engine, and when the DQIV DS game came out it was basically the PSX version again, and the V & VI ports share that style). VI's SFC fan translation is sadly unfinished (95% of dialogue is translated) with a few bugs in. ![]() When you eventually get there, there is a gundam hack called "FPU Negative Div Hack" in the PCSX2 settings that you can turn on that fixes it.The DS official translation is also awful and quite frankly borderline racist in places (I think it's aiming for allo allo style stetrotypes but it veers close with one character) Incorrectly, the camera views the scene from below instead of above, making it difficult to traverse. PCSX2 mostly runs flawlessly, but it does has one small bug with Dragon Quest V (at least it did 2 years ago when I last played it, could have been fixed since) - very late game, you are on a mountain. Upping the internal resolution as high as you can makes it look awesome There's a true widesceeen patch available here: (Make sure to switch to 16:9 otherwise you'll just get a squashed image rather then proper widescreen) Point is, the whole process of getting the "best" version of each DQ is messy and almost entirely requires mods and fan translations to find. There's also the insane omission of party chat in DQIV on the DS, though there's a mod that inserts them back in from the translated mobile version. I've been particularly interested in DQV, as I had originally started it on DS, but then recently restarted the fan-translated PS2 version on the Steam Deck, which has nicer visuals and an orchestrated OST (but lacks the extra wife.not "waifu", but actual "wife") option from the DS version. Finding out which version of each entry is a lot trickier as there always seems to be something missing from each re-release, not to mention wildly different visual styles and even gameplay changes.Īll I know definitively is that the Definitive Edition of Dragon Quest XI is the way to go, especially the PC version with just a few graphical mods. To date, I've only completed two games in the entire series, DQVIII (PS2) and DQXI (PC.well to be more specific, I started the DE on Switch, moved the save over to Xbox Gamepass, then finally finished it after so many years on PC). A companion piece to my previous thread, this time with a series I have a lot less familiarity with.
